- Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing
We use personal information for recruiting and hiring purposes, including to evaluate candidates, manage applications and interviews, verify information and conduct background checks (where permitted), comply with legal and regulatory obligations, support equal employment opportunity, improve our recruiting processes, maintain talent pools for future opportunities, protect our systems and prevent fraud, and, where applicable, use technology-assisted tools to support candidate evaluation, subject to appropriate human oversight.
Applicant information may be used to:
- Assess qualifications, experience, and suitability for roles

- Communicate with candidates about opportunities and outcomes
- Administer offers, background checks (where permitted), and onboarding
- Maintain recruiting records and comply with applicable laws

- Automated Decision-Making and Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
We provide advance notice of automated tool use, maintain audit documentation, and provide reasonable accommodations or alternative assessment methods where required by law. We use technology‑assisted tools, including AI‑enabled systems, as part of our recruitment process to support recruiter efficiency and consistency.
These tools may assist with:
- Identifying experience or skills relevant to a role
- Sorting or prioritizing applications for recruiter review based on job‑related criteria
These tools do not make hiring decisions. No employment decision is made through automated means. Recruiters and hiring managers review applications and exercise judgment at all stages of the process.
We periodically review these tools to help ensure they are used appropriately, responsibly, and in compliance with applicable laws. Where required, additional disclosures (including bias audits or notices) are available on our Careers site.
- Sharing of Information
We may share personal information with:
- Internal teams involved in recruiting, hiring, and business operations
- Third‑party service providers that support recruiting, technology, analytics, background screening, or compliance activities
- Government authorities or regulators where required by law
Service providers are required to protect personal information and use it only for authorized purposes.
- Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, typically no longer than 1–3 years unless extended by law or consent.

U.S. State Privacy Rights: Residents of certain U.S. states (e.g., California, Virginia, Colorado) may have additional rights including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain processing. We do not sell or share applicant personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
NYC Local Law 144 Requirement: A summary of the most recent bias audit is publicly available before the use of the tool, in compliance with NYC Local Law 144.
Background Checks: Where permitted, background checks are conducted in compliance with applicable law, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and require appropriate disclosures and authorizations.
Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination: We process applicant data in accordance with equal employment opportunity laws and do not use information in a manner that results in unlawful discrimination.

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
